Pedestrian routes around Warwick Avenue roadworks

Improved walking route along Burton Road to cross Warwick Avenue

Walking along Burton Road to cross Warwick Avenue or Manor Road could be as much as half a mile diversion along an awkward route with ramps, lights and cones.

Meanwhile the traffic can go through with one set of lights.  Having a proper pedestrian phase on the lights would allow a more straight through pedestrian route that would be more manageable.

Better Burton Road walking route across Warwick Avenue

For people in a hurry, or who are less mobile, the walk down and up Warwick Avenue to the temporary crossing point is not an attractive or, in some cases, practical solution for getting past the current road works. We ask that Derby City Council support their own ambition to encourage more people to walk by providing a walking route that follows the line of Burton Road.
