Improve the city centre bus information
Bus departure information is displayed in Derby Bus Station for buses leaving from the Bus Station. However, not all buses from Derby city centre leave from the Bus Station.
If we want more people to use the busses, they must be accessible and easy to use, which includes know where and when they run.
Derby City Council has been given money to improve bus travel. We think that information needs improving for people changing buses in the Derby city centre.

Better Burton Road walking route across Warwick Avenue
Walking along Burton Road to cross Warwick Avenue or Manor Road could be as much as half a mile diversion along an awkward route with ramps, lights and cones.
Meanwhile the traffic can go through with one set of lights. Having a proper pedestrian phase on the lights would allow a more straight through pedestrian route that would be more manageable.

More GPs needed in Derby
Despite land being set aside in planning agreements for new doctors surgeries, these have not yet been built. Sign our petition to call on Derby's integrated care system (ICS) to build and open new GP (doctors) surgeries

More dentists needed in Derby
In some parts of Derby patients per dentist has risen to 3,000
We call on the Government to increase the number of NHS dental appointments available. In particular, we call on the Government to increase training places for new dentists, reform NHS dental contracts and make it easier to recruit experienced dentists to fill dental vacancies. We call on the health board to provide NHS dental opportunities for all parts of Derby.

Stop dumping sewage in our rivers
Sewage dumping levels are at their highest level for years
Water firms are failing to disclose how much sewage is being discharged into rivers, lakes and coastlines.
Environmental Information Requests by the Liberal Democrats revealed that water firms could be guitly of a scandalous cover up.

Electrify the railway up to Sheffield
The 2010-2015 Coalition Government planned to electrify the Midland Main Line, the railway line from London to Sheffield, by 2020. This would reduce pollution and increase capacity on the line. With ‘green’ electricity from renewable sources it would also help train travel become “zero carbon”.
This target has come and gone. Meanwhile the Government’s HS2 project, building a whole new railway line from London to the Midlands and beyond, has been reduced. It will probably never reach Derby and is running seriously over time and over budget. Let's get the electrification finished so we can get some benefit from the work already completed.

Enforce 20mph limits
There are more and more streets across Derbyshire where the speed limit is now 20mph. We would like the Derbyshire Police, including CREST (the Casualty Reduction Enforcement Support Team) to be able to enforce the speed limit in these areas, as they do for roads with 30mph and higher limits.

Do you think the speed limit on Station Road, Mickleover should be changed?
Station Road is now built up with housing along the whole length with housing estates exiting onto Station Road.
The pavements are not complete for the whole length yet the speed limit remains at 40mph for the out of village end.
Should the speed limits should be changed or left as is?
