Derby’s Libraries – What’s Happening?

May 1, 2019 10:42 AM

Cllr Ruth Skelton, Danielle Lind and Cllr Joe Naitta visit Blagreaves LibraryBefore they lost power last May, Labour signed contracts with a voluntary sector organisation for it to take over the running of 10 of Derby's libraries, including Blagreaves. Since then not a lot has happened. Most of the 10 libraries are still being run by the Council. This is because the contract failed to properly take account of important laws regarding data protection and protection of employees' rights.

Back in the summer of 2017 Labour were warned by a trade union that these serious problems existed, but Labour refused to listen. Councillors who are this arrogant need voting out. Do this by voting for hard-working Liberal Democrat campaigners.
