Liberal Democrats Launch Manifesto for DerbyDerby Liberal Democrats today launched their manifesto for the upcoming local elections. Group Leader Cllr Ruth Skelton and Vice-Chair of Derby Liberal Democrats and Mackworth Ward Candidate Tom Bull told Lib Dem supporters and activists about the party's pledges to "Take our City Forward".

The Liberal Democrats are committed to stopping the wasteful rebuild of the Assembly Rooms, funding Derby Streetpride to start to clean up our City and to fixing the crisis around Special Educational Needs.

Tom Bull said "For years Labour have been running our council into the ground. It's time to get our city back and repair the damage that they have done. The Liberal Democrats' manifesto is a detailed, positive vision for our city. Stopping the wasteful rebuild of the Assembly Rooms would mean less borrowing and debt for future generations, such as mine."

Ruth Skelton added "I'm really pleased to launch our excellent, positive plan today. The Liberal Democrats have a strong team ready to take the city of Derby forwards. For too long the Labour run council has served the Labour party, not the people of Derby."
