From the end of November work will start on resurfacing the path that goes through the wooded area on Sunnydale Park. This is one of the projects that are being funded by the £300,000 from the Heatherton Developers.

Bus 7 Stops Using Bus Station

Many local residents were upset to hear that from 29th October Arriva bus 7 would no longer use the Bus Station. The reason for this is that Derby's Labour-run council told the bus companies to take some services out of the Bus Station, as too many buses were causing gridlock.

When the number 5/5A stopped using the Bus Station residents were promised better waiting facilities in The Spot area. Labour has failed to provide this. "Blagreaves has yet again drawn the short straw when it comes to our local bus services," said Cllr Ruth Skelton.

Eliot Road Parking

After lengthy delays it looks like the new parking bays will be installed in the near future. This project has been delayed a number of times, for mostly unclear reasons. Cllr Ruth Skelton and Cllr Joe Naitta have made the decision that the work should be done.

"We have suspected for some time that Labour has caused the delays. If for some reason the work doesn't get done, we will know who to blame," said Cllr Joe Naitta.

Freeman Avenue

At the end of August, a large section of Freeman Avenue's road surface was reconstructed. It nearly didn't happen because of a car parked on the road that belonged to someone who didn't live locally. When Cllr Joe Naitta was told this, he immediately set about tracking down the owner (who was from Burton).

Arrangements were then made to get the car moved. The road repairs could then be done. Thank you Joe!
