Thomas Bull with the damaged play equipmentCheviot Street recreation ground has been left in a state after poor maintenance by Derby's Labour Council.

The play area iwas left unusable for children, with a swing and the climbing frame locked away following vandalism and no sign of repairs.

And the council's previous repairs to football goals have left them in a dangerous condition with exposed sharp edges rather than properly repaired.

Local campaigner Thomas Bull said: "This local park is vital for the area's children and young people - the shoddy state of it is an embarrassment to our local area.

"Labour cannot be trusted with our local area. If you'd be interested in working with other local residents to help save our parks, use the survey attached to let me and the team know."
