Heather Crescent Jitty

A few months ago a fire badly damaged the trees in the jitty.

Cllr Ruth Skelton asked the owner to take down the damaged trees for safety reasons. He did, and put up new fencing along that side of the jitty.

Picnic in the Park

Did you go to the music, stalls and fun events held on King George V Park in June 2015 and in previous years? Would you like one in 2017? If so, could you help? Please get in touch with Nigel Staunton of Friends of Littleover Parks. People are needed to plan the event, and on the day itself. Phone 510264 or email nigel@staunton.force9.co.uk

Library Petition

A big thank you to everyone who has signed the petition and collected signatures to protest against Labour's plans to only have 4 of the 17 libraries remaining part of the statutory service.

The petition has now been handed in to the Council.

If you want to volunteer to help run Blagreaves Library, it's not too late. Contact Cllr Ruth Skelton, Cllr Joe Naitta or Danielle Lind.

Staunton Ave Play Area

Some time ago the fence around the play area was completely destroyed by vandals. Only the entrance gate was left intact as pictured. At the time Cllr Ruth Skelton asked for the fence to be replaced, but the Council said it didn't have the money. Ruth has since been told that money has been found to do the job. So hopefully the play area will again be safe for children to play and dogs kept out.
