Fly-Tipping Reminder

Cllr Ruth Skelton inspecting flytipped wasteFrom time to time we all have unwanted items we need to get rid of. We might take it down to Raynesway or use the Council's bulky waste collection service. If the items are metal, we might leave them out for the scrap metal collectors.

If you are leaving items outside, please make sure they are on your land. If you leave them on the pavement or grass verge, technically you are guilty of fly-tipping. This attracts a fine of up to £5,000.

Councillor Joe Naitta said, "When we see fly-tipping, we have started to go door to door asking if people have seen when it happened and who did it. After speaking to a few people we usually find out."
