Working together, we win!

Teamwork is key to winning in sport. In business it's also often stated that diverse teams can do best.

So why is it in politics - in the important business of running the city or the country - do we normally put just one set of people in charge?

It wasn't like this across Britain from 2010 to 2015, and many people now think the Coalition did a much better job than the Conservatives are doing alone in government now.

And it is never like this in Europe. Our members of the European Parliament are currently formed into eight groups - socialists, liberals and more - and no one group has control. And rarely do they vote on nationalist lines. The more effectively our UK MEPs work within their group, the more they are likely to achieve.

The same is true of the UK's members on the European Commission or when the council of ministers meet. The more our members engage positively, the more they will achieve for Britain.

If voters elect people who want to work positively together, at every level, Britain should achieve more.
